It's dark, it's soft with some pokey out bits some of which are sharp and hurt; it's like anyone else's head really.

Thursday, April 20

Moist blogging (on computer but not internet) April 19, 2006 9:16pm

So here I am, in Concord, CA. It's been hot most of the time I've been here, it rained the first couple of mornings but then cleared off to make my southwest facing room sweltering hot. It doesn't cool off until the early morning when its so cold it wakes me up and I have to pull an extra blanket over me.

Dan, the new room mate, seems like a nice guy. On the first day after I dropped my stuff off at the storage place he offered to pick me up at the BART station then we went grocery shopping. The next day he took me to Target to get the air pump to blow up my air bed which I had thought came with the mattress but hadn't. Other than those times I haven't left the complex. Its called Hidden Creek Townhouses; there is no creek hidden or otherwise. I guess all the cooler names were taken.

Rick is in town tomorrow, playing Cobb's, it's a legalize weed thing with a bunch of other comics known for their drug humor. I can't wait to see him, he always makes me feel like a fucking princess and I adore him. So smart, funny, and handsome, how could I not?

The only light in the room at the moment is from the computer and a sliver of street light between the curtains. We don't have cable, so Dan has gone to a local bar to watch the game. (What game? I have nary a clue. He's a big sport guy. If there's a game - he's watching it.)

You'll be pleased to hear that with the exception of two boxes and a large roll of black out shade I have unpacked. You might not be as pleased to hear that most of it is in a big pile in the middle of the room. At least I've gone through most of it and know what is in the pile, I just don't know what to do with it. I need another dresser and some more hangers. I'd love to hit one of those container stores but I don't see that happening any time soon.

I'm thinking of building a bookcase; it would be a series of wooden boxes different heights and widths the tops of which would be like stairs and I would carpet to make vertical play space for the girls. I might even figure out how to make a fold out table for my sewing machine in the middle of it. I don't feel like I can take up any of the community space yet. Maybe soon, I will have taken over.

BTW tomorrow, April 20th is Hitler's birthday - fucker.
